February 16, 2012 - Veterinarians Support Federal Legislation on Eggs

The United Egg Producers Association applauds the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the nation’s largest association of animal health professionals representing more than 82,500 veterinarians, for its announcement supporting H.R. 3798, the Egg Products Inspection Act Amendments of 2012. The proposed legislation will lead to improvements in housing for 280 million hens involved in U.S. egg production, while providing a stable future for egg farmers. READ MORE

February 1, 2011 - Today, Governor Tom Corbett announced Mr. George Greig of Linesville, as Pennsylvania's Secretary of Agriculture. Acting Secretary Greig, a former dairy farmer and current crop farmer, owns and operates a 650 acre farm in partnership with his brother in Crawford County. In an off-farm capacity, Acting Secretary Greig has served on the USDA Farm Service Agency PA State Committee, Crawford County Conservation District, Conneaut Township Supervisor and Great Lakes Regional Water Board. He also currently serves as a State Board Member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
