Feed, Grain and Allied Industry Council
The Feed, Grain and Allied Industry (FGAI) Council was created in order to provide representation to PennAg's historically based membership of feed mills, grain merchandisers and flour mills. With more than 200 members, the Feed, Grain and Allied Industry Council is PennAg's largest.
A Feed and Grain Task Force was recently formed with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, of which the FGAI Council is actively involved. The objective of the Task Force is to meet regularly with the Secretary of Agriculture to provide industry feedback regarding feed and grain related isuses.
The FGAI Council actively meets to discuss issues relevant to the industry. In 2009, the council developed the 'Building A Strong Foundation' traning series to provide timely and relevant training to members. The series focuses on compliance and good production practices. The most recent seminar, titled 'Managing Feed Quality & Compliance,' was held on September 28, 2010. The event focused on mycotoxins in feed. Speakers included: Dr. Michael Henry, Food & Drug Administration (FDA); David Fairfield, National Grain & Feed Association (NGFA); and Dr. Brian Kremer, Kemin Agri-Foods, N.A., Inc.
The next seminar in the Building A Strong Foundation series, 'Nuts & Bolts of Feed Labeling and OSHA Worker Safety Requirements,' will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Download a brochure for further information or to register today!
The FGAI Council, along with SEPAGBA, hosted a golf outing and grain meeting on June 16, 2011 at Foxchase Golf Club, Stevens, PA.
